Why should I want antimicrobial protection?

How does Microban® anti-microbial protection work?

Microban technology is actually built right into the surface of each Barker-Tile panel during the manufacturing process.  When microbes, such as mold, mildew and odor causing bacteria come into contact with Barker-Tile’s surface, Microban penetrates the cell walls of the microbes.  Microban actually disrupts key cell functions of the microbes so that the mold, mildew or bacteria cannot grow or reproduce.  The combination of Barker-Tile’s non-porous easy to clean hard surface and Microban anti-microbial protection provides a unique combination in these high moisture areas such as kitchens and bathrooms. 

Does this mean I don’t have to clean Barker-Tile as often or as carefully?

No.  Regular cleaning practices should be always be maintained in any bathroom or kitchen but oh how easy it is with Barker-Tile!!!  Barker-Tile only needs a weekly cleaning using most any spray & wipe bathroom cleaner.  Just a couple of minutes per week; Easy!  Microban provides continuous antimicrobial protection for the Barker-Tile panels on the walls of your home, helping to make them easier to clean and keeping them fresher between cleanings.
